What Is Konaka-Futata Day?

December 15th is "Konaka-Futata Day" in Japan. It was established by Konaka Co., Ltd. (Yokohama, Kanagawa), which runs business-wear chains nationwide, and was certified and registered by the Japan Anniversary Association in 2024. The date marks December 15, 2006, when Konaka and Futata Co., another business-wear chain, completed their business integration. The aim is to raise awareness of the Konaka-Futata brand.

Konaka and Futata share the common history of both being founded in 1952 -- Konaka in Kobe and Futata in Kurume, Fukuoka Prefecture.
