January 14th is "Compliment Card Day" in Japan, established by the Japan Compliment Card Association, headquartered in Taito Ward, Tokyo. The date comes from a pun on "i (1) i (1) yo (4)" ("that's good"), and the day was certified and registered by the Japan Anniversary Association in 2016.

A compliment card is a card featuring one of 100 compliments selected from phrases gathered through a public survey.
