Secom Day

What Is Secom Day?

July 5th and 6th are "Secom Day," based on the wordplay "Se (7) - Co (5) - Mu (6)," which spells out "Secom." Secom Co., Ltd. established the day in 2012, its 50th anniversary year, and it is registered with the Japan Anniversary Association. The aim is to encourage companies, households, and individuals to think about safety and security.

The Origin of Secom Day

Secom was founded in 1962 as Nihon Keibi Hoshō and is known as Japan's first security services company. It changed its name to Secom in 1983. Because of the wordplay on the company name, the anniversary spans two days, July 5 and 6.
