September 18th is "World Bamboo Day." It was established in 2009 at the 8th World Bamboo Congress in Bangkok, Thailand, when delegations from more than 100 countries joined together under the leadership of Kamesh Salam, chairman of the World Bamboo Organization, to declare this date.
